Are your hands clean? What to do about germs and where are germs?

Water, water, everywhere, and so are germs.  Be they good or bad germs or in between, can you really tell and what the heck should you be doing about it?  As the cold and flu season starts again, there are always conflicting views on what to do about your health as it relates to getting sick and who are the culprits this year.

I am a certified, card-carrying germaphobe.  My thought, I have been in healthcare for over 35 years, what I have been exposed to over those years could sink a small community.  But, I made it this far with tons of dents in my fenders and the wheels still do go round and round.  I am cautious, I take prevention to the limits, and I 100% take the ground of creating my own barrier and avoidance of anything that I do not need in my life.

Benjamin Lee of OUTFOX Prevention and I had a very lively conversation last week on my radio show.  I gave him my thoughts, he gave me his and in the middle is the path of OUTFOX Prevention; attention, awareness, prevention, training, show and tell and all the other places people can find support in feeling confident about containing germs on themselves and their environment.

I was drawn to OUTFOX Prevention as I reviewed my thoughts on the ‘sanitizing gel’ that everyone seems to carry around and swear it is their golden ticket to not get sick.  But is that the answer?  I, personally, think not.

Benjamin provides ‘glo gel’ on his website that will show you where you may be missing in your hand washing, clean up techniques, and other germ laden areas that you may not have thought about.  He provides posters, training, information sharing and events to help others see what is still around that could be a potential issue for their health.

Attention:  schools, small business, day cares, non profits, healthcare facilities, grocery stores, all food delivery systems, dental and medical offices and everyone you can think of, OUTFOX Prevention has something on their website that will work for you.  Many items are free, yep, did you hear that, free.  I encourage you to check out their website and learn a tip or two for your health and safety in the season going forward.

They have a free item here for a limited time.  If this expires, contact them directly and see what else may be coming up.  If you have a function or event that would like extra support, contact Benjamin directly through the website.  He will help in any way that is possible.

Stay safe and healthy until spring……………..
